P0611 — Fuel Injector Control Module Performance

P0611 means the fuel injector control module isn't performing as expected. On diesels this often accompanies injector driver circuit faults and hard-start complaints.

Cost range: $150–$1,800. Severity: high. Safe to drive? Not recommended — misfires or a no-start can follow without warning.

Most common causes of P0611

1. Failed FICM or injector driver module — Well-known failure on some diesel platforms. ($600–$1,800)
2. Low system voltage to the module — Weak batteries cause FICM voltage to fall below spec. ($200–$500)
3. Corroded module connector — Inspect for green pins and moisture. ($100–$350)
4. Shorted injector circuit — One failing injector can take out the driver. ($300–$1,200)
