P0175 — System Too Rich (Bank 2)
P0175 is the bank 2 version of a rich fuel condition — the ECM is cutting fuel and still reading rich. If P0172 is also present, look for a cause shared by both banks like the MAF or fuel pressure.
Cost range: $50–$900. Severity: medium. Safe to drive? Short term yes. Prolonged rich running kills catalytic converters.
Most common causes of P0175
- Dirty MAF sensor — A single MAF fault affects both banks — check for P0172 alongside. ($20–$400)
- High fuel pressure — Failed regulator or restricted return line. ($150–$450)
- Leaking injector on bank 2 — Isolate with a balance test. ($200–$700)
- Contaminated engine oil — Fuel-diluted oil off-gasses through the PCV system. ($60–$150)
